The China Threat

An Existential Threat to the United States of America

China is looming over America with a nuclear hammer, ready to destroy America. In the minds of many Americans that’s the threat they envision. But is it a reality? If we trace the history and past actions of China, the nuclear threat is most likely improbable. Because of our amazingly powerful military, it’s unlikely China will confront the USA directly. No, China’s threat to America is a strategy of a thousand cuts. The threat from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is a subversive attack that includes criminal actions, counterintelligence, and attacks on our cybersecurity, and infostructure.

According to FBI Director Christopher Wray, China’s threat to the United States is “driven by the CCP’s aspirations to wealth and power.” China has made it perfectly clear that they want to dominate the world. In the quest for world dominance, China is seizing vital world assets that are critical to our country's future growth and stability. China’s push towards world dominance has propelled their economy into a world power that rivals, competes, and threatens the United States.

Unfortunately, China will resort to theft in order to achieve their global aspirations. The Chinese government steals intellectual property, technology, and research from practically every industry in our country. China’s threat to Taiwan and their high-tech chip manufacturing is another critical spectrum of their goal of global dominance.

Targeting our Infrastructure and

Stealing Intellectual Property

It’s no secret that China is targeting our infrastructure and stealing our intellectual property.

“China is not a superpower, nor will she ever seek to be one... If one day China should change her color and turn into a superpower, if she too should play the tyrant in the world, and everywhere subject others to her bullying, aggression and exploitation, the people of the world should identify her as social-imperialist, expose it, oppose it and work together with the Chinese people to overthrow it.” Deng Xiaoping

Is it time for us to expose it. oppose it, and work together to overthrow it?

Understanding the China Threat

by Lianchao Han (Author), Bradley A. Thayer (Author)

This book examines the contours of the Sino-American confrontation and its future trajectories. It delineates the two major causes of the friction in Sino-American relations—change in the balance of power in China’s favor and the conflicting ideologies of the two states—and emphasizes why it is imperative for the U.S. to hold on to its ideological principles. It demonstrates the ultimate and irreconcilable gap in the visions the two competitors have for international politics and consequently why conflict—certainly cold, and very possibly hot—is inevitable. The authors also suggest measures which the U.S. can adopt to sustain its leadership and deter China’s ideology and vision for the future of global politics.

A significant contribution to the study of Sino-American relations, the volume will be of interest to scholars and researchers of international relations, foreign policy, and U.S. and Chinese politics. It will be of great interest to think tanks, public policy professionals, and the interest the general reader.

Military intervention to maintain the global status quo will become a constant feature of international relations, whether this is justified in terms of fighting drugs, fighting terrorism, containing 'rogue states', opposing 'Islamic fundamentalism', or containing China. - Walden Bello
